Where is the accountability?
We are not born to hate. Hate is a learned behavior. In my opinion, it is a dysfunctional characteristic; a flaw that we can be defeated. Daily, we witness or learn of the horrific activities that are the cause of a growing list of injustices that are never punished. Death, discrimination and destruction are prevalent throughout the nation. The enemy is so bold that he no longer hides in darkness. We are constantly slapped in the face with visions of our people losing their life. Let’s again review the antics of the enemy! "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy." John 10:10
Remember, and never forget that.
Recent events, once again, cover the news with stores of tragedy and outrage. Voices of disappointment and desperation explode all over the Nation. Another life lost too soon. We know the obvious: it is an injustice! However, what do we do? This issue is a plague spreading fear and distrust throughout the American communities. Let us not forget the promise of God: "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 We have the recipe. Why do we not use it?
For real change our mission must be centered and anchored in Christ. "Anyone who hates another brother or sister is really a murderer at heart. And you know that murderers don’t have eternal life within them. We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters." 1 John 3: 15-16
How can we continue to operate in a behavior that hurts so many? We are hurting Mothers, Fathers, Siblings and a host of friends and family by continuing countless, senseless acts of killing. The soul of someone who hates must be empty and seeking a fulfillment our Jesus The Christ can provide.
I am opposed to all senseless loss of life. And must point out that we must not limit our focus to only the actions of police officers. But, we must also apply a solution that ends the violence and murders in our own communities. What must we do in the inner cities, such as: Chicago Il, Birmingham AL, and Cleveland OH? What are we doing to bring peace end the violence? Where is that accountability? It is all wrong!
I am curious to learn: what would happen if everyone all over the nation implemented mandatory prayer in every aspect of their life? Not just at Church, but also at Home, School, and on their Jobs. What would happen if we "pray without ceasing?" 1 Thessalonians 5:17
I am thankful that although I pause to address the injustices; I am not of the world so my faith remains unshakeable.
