Poetry On Odyssey: Value Rubies

Continue to walk in the light. With it, you will never be blind.

Someone once tried to make me feel

like I am not all that.

They implied my worth

was equivalent to crap.

If I listened to them

I would coward in despair.

So I rise knowing

for their assumptions

I do not care.

Blindly walking not recognizing

their own appointing.

Slowly growing bitter and angry

confused trying to make sense of my anointing.

At first glance, it would seem

I am puffed up with pride.

Nope, not at all.

I understand it is not about me

only about my Savior

that they wanted to die.

If I don't understand my value

The price to be a child of the most high.

The opinions of others

will cloud my judgment.

I will forget

what shines inside

I cannot hide.

More precious than rubies

Value that equates to duties.

Royalty that needs no explanation.

However, it requires

an abundance of dedication.

Remember never let

someone else dull your shine.

Continue to walk in the light

with it, you will never be blind.
