You never know exactly what you will do until you are placed in the very situation that will test everything you have learned your entire life. I always thought I had a good handle on this thing called life. I knew just what to say to sway a room of naysayers to agree with me. And I knew how to bring comedy into any intense situation to ease the mood and relax everyone’s mind. But, 2016 slammed me with a new one with financial obligations. Every plan failed which was new to me. Just think: the planner who always had a plan A and a plan B had nothing. 2016 was tight, but we made it. And now in 2017, I finally see the rainbow. New chances to make a difference are here right before my eyes. These were not planned and that is why I am so exciting.
Not only did '16 test us financially, but I also stepped out of my comfort zone and began blogging. Soon after, an online platform contacted me about writing for them. And soon my first article was published. I began writing weekly sharing my religion's beliefs. And now, as the dust begins to settle, I realized I can really do this. I love to write; and, I am no longer afraid to share my thoughts. So, since I am no longer afraid, I now search for opportunities to share my thoughts, beliefs, laughs, cries and goals with the world.
I realized that this: writing thing, is my way of achieving a very important task or instruction given to the Apostles by Jesus as he ascended to Heaven by informing:
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 NIV
And:
“He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.'” Mark 16:15 NIV
I find peace when writing about the goodness, grace, mercy and peace that is only available through knowing Jesus Christ and allowing God to be the head of my home, heart and mind. The more I learn, the more I share. I now have a desire to tell everyone the requirements to receive eternal life.
“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:16 NIV
To be clear, the requirements are believing Jesus Christ is the son of God, repentance of sin, and baptizing in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
“Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'” Acts 2:38 NIV
So, I am definitely all in. I look forward to every chance I have to share my thoughts regarding scriptures and how they apply to the world today. Knowing that I still have much more to learn, I am happy that my road extends forward matching my desire to continue on this journey which grows with excitement with every step. When reading the word of God, the stories come to life. It gives me great pleasure to learn of how years ago, others handled adversity and survived. And also to know, that the people we study about, in most cases, were not perfect. They were made mistakes. And most importantly, they learned from their mistakes. And just as he forgave them, God will forgive us also. Most importantly, he loves us.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV
My final remarks are these: tomorrow's not promised. So never put off until another time what you can do today. You can embrace a future today filled with an abundant life.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10 NIV
You can receive salvation today. The choice is yours. And remember not choosing is a choice. The enemy loves for us to run out of time thinking there is always tomorrow. That is his objective: to deceive mankind. However, the choice must be made before it is too late. There is no time like the present. Choose wisely. Choose today.
